Interns At Protection & Advocacy
Protection and Advocacy welcomes two new interns, Jennifer Ortega and Thomas
Day.
Jennifer is a senior at the College of Nursing at the University of New
Mexico. She is a mother of 3 sons, one of them with ADHD/ODD. Jennifer plans
on going into Labor and Delivery nursing after graduation.
Thomas is a student in social work at NMHU. He has worked at various agencies
throughout the Valencia, Bernalillo and Sandoval counties in New Mexico
working exclusively in the Pueblos and Navajo checkerboard areas. Thomas
also worked extensively in the rural Hispanic communities in New Mexico.
Thomas' present goals include obtaining a Masters of Social Work degree
and becoming a case manager for those receiving Developmental Disabilities
waiver services. In his free time, Thomas can be found hiking at his favorite
spots in the Cabezon and Placitas areas. He also enjoys fly-fishing and
photography. Welcome aboard Ms. Ortega and Mr. Day!
