Welcome Back Nancy

Nancy Koenigsberg is the new Director of Legal Services at Protection and Advocacy System. Nancy is a P&A veteran, having served for many years as a Staff Attorney and Senior Attorney before leaving five years ago to become the Executive Director of the New Mexico Center for Law and Poverty. At the Center, she was intensively engaged in policy work related to Medicaid, TANF, and other services to low income New Mexicans. She was one of the moving forces behind the legislation that established the Civil Legal Services Commission, which provides funding to legal services agencies to assist low income residents of the state.

Nancy recently served on the Medicaid Reform Committee as well as the HSD Behavioral Health Advisory Committee, and remains a member of the HSD Medicaid Advisory Committee and the Behavioral Health Steering Committee. Nancy's position at P&A was previously held by Colleen Miller, who left earlier this year to become the Executive Director of the Virginia P&A. Welcome back, Nancy - great to have you on board again!
