We Miss Her!

Colleen Miller, who was the Legal Services Director at Protection and Advocacy in New Mexico for 8 years, left our agency on March 21, 2003. During her time here, Colleen was instrumental in monitoring community services for clients with developmental disabilities and initiating a lawsuit to shorten waiting lists for Medicaid Waiver services. Her work to establish a quality control system for corporate guardians in New Mexico was rewarded in the recent legislative session when an Office of the Guardian was established. She provided our staff with continuing education in legal and disability issues affecting our clients and kept us focused on our priorities. Colleen has taken a position as Executive Director for the Virginia Protection and Advocacy System, and we wish her great success there. Colleen's skill and dedication, as well as her renowned joke-telling ability, will always be treasured by her friends here in New Mexico.
