Manual Padilla passed away at the end of 2002 at the age of 64. He was never able to walk and care for himself, but he was a friendly person and enjoyed listening to Spanish folk songs. His sister, Mary, honored his wish to keep him at home as much as she could. When she had strokes and heart attacks, Manual would have to go to a nursing home for a month or two, but then she would work to get well and bring him back home to his garden of roses and birds. Manualito, we will miss your smile and laughter.
